Prince of Wales Junior Judo

Canterbury Judokwai is pleased to announce the return of a junior judo session with support from the Prince Of Wales Youth Club. In recognition of this, the junior session is known as Prince Of Wales Junior Judo, but is still part of the Canterbury Judokwai and takes place in the same dojo. Two new coaches also join our roster; you can find out about them here. They are both competitive judo players and experienced coaches, teaching players of all ages and skill levels.

We are excited to share this brilliant sport with young people!

Sessions are Wednesdays, 6.15pm–7.15pm (for all ages).

Please note, the ages are only a rough guide; other factors are taken in to account. Please see Class Transitions (pdf) for details.

If your child doesn’t have their own judo suit, then they should wear loose clothing (e.g. tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt) and hopefully we’ll have a spare suit that fits them.

The sessions cost £4 per child. The Prince Of Wales Youth Club can provide finanical aid for those that need it, so please get in touch even if the cost is a concern. Payment can be made online in advance (please contact us for the details) or in cash on the day.

We are doing are best to keep everyone safe; please see our Covid Safety page.

How to join us

To join us, there is a bit of paperwork to do first. If possible, please do this in advance and either send it to us at judo.canterbury@gmail.com or bring it with you. We’d like to reduce the amount of in-person paperwork we need to do, but we will have some blank forms available on the day.

If you have any technical issues completing the forms electronically, you may simply include all the required information in an email. (Please be sure to include your British Judo membership number and expiry date.)
