Prince of Wales Junior Judo

Junior Judo at Canterbury Judokwai is supported by the Prince Of Wales Youth Club so is known as Prince Of Wales Junior Judo. These sessions are for children 6 to 15 years old.

Sessions are Wednesdays, 6.15pm–7.15pm

If your child doesn't have their own judo suit, then they should wear loose clothing (e.g. tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt) and hopefully we'll have a spare suit that fits them.

The sessions cost £4 per child. The Prince Of Wales Youth Club can provide finanical aid for those that need it, so please get in touch if the cost is a concern. We prefer payment by card/contactless, but also accept cash. Members can save time and money by paying via direct debit (set one up via the Members page).

How to join us

To join us, there is a bit of paperwork to do first. If possible, please do this in advance and either send it to us at judo.canterbury@gmail.com or bring it with you. We'd like to reduce the amount of in-person paperwork we need to do, but we will have some blank forms available on the day.

  • British Judo membership

Posession of a current membership is an insurance requirement for joining our sessions.

    • If you have never held British Judo membership, a free three-month introductory membership is available. See the British Judo site for the membership offers.
  • Prince of Wales Judo club membership

See our club registration form (DOCX). Club membership is free! To see what we do with your data, see our Privacy Notice (DOCX).

If you have any technical issues completing the forms electronically, you may simply include all the required information in an email. (Please be sure to include your British Judo membership number and expiry date.)

Before leaving home for the dojo

Please ensure your child:
  • Has had a shower, or as a minimum that they are clean and have washed their hands.
  • Has gone to the toilet.
  • Has changed into their judo kit. [The kit should be washed between each session.]
